Starting in 2014, Toyota Tundra introduced a new fog light housing and labeled the bulb as H16.
However, this “new” H16 does not match the traditional H16 bulb design.
Before Toyota released this housing, the H16 designation referred to a completely different style bulb. As a result, many aftermarket manufacturers misidentified the 2014+ Tundra fog light bulb.
That mistake still causes confusion today.

Unique base design
Different tab orientation
Not compatible with 2014+ Tundra fog lights
Physically resembles an H11
Similar locking tabs
Nearly identical fitment to H11
Because of that similarity, the correct LED replacement for the 2014+ Tundra fog light is typically H11, not a traditional H16.
To make things even more confusing, many LED companies label 5202 bulbs as H16.
However, the 5202 uses a completely different base and connector design. Therefore, it will not fit properly in a 2014+ Tundra fog housing.
If you order a 5202 labeled as “H16,” you will likely receive the wrong bulb.
When you compare the physical design:
The 2014+ Tundra “H16” matches H11 geometry
The tabs align properly
The connector fits correctly
Because the housing accepts H11-style dimensions, most high-quality H11 LED fog light bulbs install without modification.
In other words, order H11 when upgrading your 2014–2016 Tundra fog lights.
| Bulb Type | Fits 2014+ Tundra Fog Lights? |
|---|---|
| Traditional H16 | ❌ No |
| 5202 | ❌ No |
| H11 | ✅ Yes |
Toyota created confusion by labeling the new fog light bulb as H16. Meanwhile, aftermarket brands added more confusion by calling 5202 bulbs “H16.”
However, the physical design tells the real story.
If you upgrade fog lights on a 2014+ Tundra, choose an H11 LED bulb. Doing so saves time, prevents returns, and ensures proper fitment.
