This new LED bulb shootout shows off 25 different brands of LED bulbs in a reflector and a projector headlight housing, and the results are staggering! Below we’ll talk about the results but first, you should just watch the video!
In the Reflector headlight (tested first), the brightest bulb was the
GTR Lighting Ultra 2 bulbs coming in at 2,590 Maximum Lux. Then the F3 bulbs came in at 2,070 Maximum Lux, and then the
S-V.4 LED bulbs coming in at 1,920 Maximum Lux.
It’s important to measure Lux (and not just Lumens) because it shows you the actual change in usable light output from your headlight. Lux will be different depending on which headlight housing you put the bulb in too, whereas Lumen will stay the same no matter what.
