Physics Nobel Laureate Discusses Automotive Lighting in Detroit, 2017 - Better Automotive Lighting

Shuji Nakamura, Ph.D, Research Director in the Solid State Lighting & Energy Electronics Center at the University of California, Santa Barbara, will be joining this year’s Advanced Lighting for Automotive Summit as part of the distinguished speaker faculty! Dr. Nakamura is the 2014 Nobel Laureate in Physics for his invention of efficient blue light-emitting diodes which has enabled bright and energy-saving white light sources. 

Shuji Nakamura is regarded as the inventor of the blue LED, a major breakthrough in lighting technology.

His presentation at the Summit, titled "The Solid State Lighting Revolution, And The Emergence Of Laser Light For Automotive Lighting", will cover topics including:
