Installing an LED light bar has become one of the most popular upgrades for truck owners. If you drive a Toyota Tundra (2014–2016 body style), you probably want more output without adding a bulky bumper or roof rack.

Fortunately, a stealth-mount kit solves that problem. Instead of mounting externally, this system hides the light bar behind the factory grille. As a result, you get serious output while keeping a clean OEM look.

Below is a step-by-step breakdown of the install process.

Step 1: Remove the Grille

First, remove the factory grille.

Toyota secures it with plastic clips and 10mm screws. Carefully remove all clips along the top and sides. Then loosen the bolts and pull the grille forward.

Take your time here. Although the process is simple, rushing can break a clip.

Step 2: Test Fit the Light Bar

Next, test fit the light bar and mounting brackets.

The stealth kit includes vehicle-specific brackets. Therefore, the light bar should sit perfectly behind the grille without major modification.

Center the light bar carefully. After that, confirm it does not contact the grille when reinstalled.

Once everything lines up, bolt the brackets to the crossbar in front of the radiator using the supplied hardware. Tighten everything securely but leave minor adjustment room until final alignment.

Step 3: Install the Wiring Harness

Now move on to wiring.

The stealth kit includes a relay harness designed specifically for the Tundra. Route the power lead toward the grille area and connect it to the light bar using the pre-wired 2-pin Deutsch connector.

Then connect the ring terminals directly to the battery:

  • Red = Positive

  • Black = Ground

Secure the harness away from moving components and heat sources. Use zip ties to keep everything tidy.

Step 4: Run the Switch Wiring Into the Cab

Next, route the switch wiring into the cab.

To do this cleanly, locate a factory firewall grommet. A wire-pulling tool makes this step much easier. Push the wiring through carefully and avoid damaging the insulation.

Afterward, route the wire toward the switch location inside the cab.

Step 5: Mount the Switch

Now install the supplied switch.

The best location sits near the steering wheel in one of the factory dummy panels. Remove the blank panel and snap the switch into place.

Then connect the switch harness. Double-check all connections before reassembly.

Step 6: Test Everything

Before reinstalling the grille, test the system.

Turn the ignition on. Then activate the switch and confirm the light bar powers up properly.

If everything works correctly, reinstall the grille and secure all clips and bolts.

Final Thoughts

A stealth light bar install gives your Tundra serious output without changing its exterior style.

Because this system uses vehicle-specific brackets and a relay harness, the install stays straightforward. In addition, hiding the light bar behind the grille protects it from damage.

As long as you take your time with alignment and wiring, this upgrade transforms your night driving visibility in just a few hours.
