Headlight Upgrades For New Style 2015 Ford F150

Headlight Upgrades For New Style 2015 Ford F150

2015 Ford F-150 U-Shaped Headlights: Upgrade Guide

The new U-shaped headlight housings on the 2015 Ford F-150 introduced a bold, modern look. In fact, they almost resemble aftermarket headlights right from the factory. As a result, many enthusiasts immediately fell in love with the design.

Fortunately, those days of replacing entire housings just for a more aggressive appearance are mostly gone.

However, lighting performance still matters.

Factory Options: LED vs Halogen

The 2015 F-150 U-shaped headlights came in two versions:

  • Full LED version designed by OSRAM with integrated high-power LEDs

  • Halogen version using traditional replaceable bulbs

If your truck has the factory LED headlights, you’re already running a strong setup. On the other hand, if you have the halogen version, you still have excellent upgrade options.

Specifically, you can install either:

  • LED bulb upgrades

  • HID conversion kits

Although aftermarket LED bulb kits are not yet brighter than HID systems, they do offer instant on/off performance. Additionally, they last longer and install more easily. Therefore, many owners prefer LED for simplicity, while others choose HID for maximum brightness.

2015 F-150 U-Shaped Housing Bulb Sizes

Before ordering upgrades, confirm your factory bulb sizes.

Low Beam – H11

High Beam – HB3 / 9005

Fog Lights – H11

Rear Parking / Brake / Turn Signal – Red 3157

Reverse Light – White 3157

Because Ford kept common bulb sizes on this platform, finding upgrades is straightforward.

How to Confirm Your Headlights

Before purchasing anything, compare your headlights to factory photos. If your truck has the same U-shaped design shown above, the listed upgrades will work.

Even so, always double-check your owner’s manual or physically inspect the bulb before ordering. Manufacturers sometimes change specs mid-production.
